Rollerin Posted August 15, 2011 Author Report Posted August 15, 2011 I already checked that manifold is long gone.... :bash: Quote
philbey Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 hah, the manifold went cos it was a good price :0 i never knew that about the SU's needing to be on an angle in order to make the fuel bowl vertical. makes sense though. You can pull the fuel bowls off and if I recall correctly, there is a small bush that you can change which changes the oreintation of the fuel bowl. I think the incline on the SU's is more of a packagaging issue, then you just fit the fuel bowls to suit Some of the later SUs' had an integral fuel bowl Quote
snot35 Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 I'm not sure about pom SU's, the Hitachi's had a rubber insulated tab that kept the bowl at a particular lean. Hang out for a manifold, while you're doing that save for a set of sideys. Simple.. :) Quote
altezzaclub Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 (edited) I'm sure there are enough people wanting Lynx manifolds to make it worth casting 5 or 10. Anyone work in the casting industry?? Same with extractors, luckily someone still makes a run now and then. Edited August 16, 2011 by altezzaclub Quote
Rollerin Posted August 16, 2011 Author Report Posted August 16, 2011 Would a Datsun L18 SU Manifold fit a K with some work? :blinks: Quote
ke70dave Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 what kind of answer are you expecting? a manifold designed for an engine, wont fit easily onto another engine. cutting, welding, probably adding more material is required. might as well make one from scratch. its like saying "will an ipod charger fit a nokia phone with some work". yep it will. irokin Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 its like saying "will an ipod charger fit a nokia phone with some work". yep it will. LOL fantastic analogy. Quote
snot35 Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 And if you're going to go to that sort of effort, do some bike carbs.... Quote
rob83ke70 Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 my float bowl angle is adjustable. I think there was some minor modification involved to make them adjustable, something like swapping a piece back to front or losing a little locator tab or something. either buy the weber manifold and put webers on it, or buy the su manifold and put su carburettors on it.... philbey Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Yeh the little notched bush iirc where the bowl connects to the carb body can be repositioned for a couple of different agles Quote
