phil86 Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 Hi, i completely ran out of petrol in my ke30. It is now parked on the side of the road i have got it to start but it runs really rough and if i take my foot off the accelerator it stalls/turns off. I called lube mobile they came out and didnt even look at it, they just said the carbie is gone and will need to be replaced or refurbished and could be a $300-$600 they said and also may need to clean out replace the fuel tank as well. Can anyone help with some advice/options? Quote
altezzaclub Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 Do what they said- Take out the tank and wash it out with petrol. You'll be amazed at the rubbish in there. Blow out the fuel line, throw out the fuel filter, take off the carb. While its off crank fresh fuel from the tank to the carb connection. Then strip and clean the carb. If you're not fussy, do the carb first, which is where the problem is, and replace the fuel filter. Quote
phil86 Posted August 10, 2011 Author Report Posted August 10, 2011 I have no idea when it comes any of that, i mean I'm sure i can remove the tank and the fuel filter but the carbie i have no idea about. The other annoying thing is that it is stuck on the side of the road. How much would i be up for in parts? And also i have heard that if i upgrade these then there is a good chance it can start a domino effect and everything else to do with the engine could start screwing up too. As u can see I'm pretty lost, any help would be great Quote
