86Ali Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Car - KE70 Wagon Problem - Just bought this, has XT130 Struts and LCA's, but no sway bar or sway bar link pins. Is this like this for a reason? Did a search found alot of XT130 conversion post, but nothin that addressed my question. My question is will a KE70/AE71 or AE86 Sway bar and link pins fit with XT130 Struts and LCA's? Any one who has done XT130 Strut upgrade who knows the answer/solution to this please let me know. I read in another forum that the KE70/AE71 wagon swaybar is bigger than the sedan...Is this correct? *I'm Hoping that I can use a AE86 one so I can get the 24mm Adjustable Whiteline! But can someone please confirm this will actually work? Thanks all, Al. Quote
lildavo Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 I have xt130 struts and lcas in my ke70 sedan using the standard ke70 swaybar. Works fine for me, don't know if there is a difference between ae86 and ke70 swaybars though. Quote
BlueKsev Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 The lower control arm just has a hole about halfway along that the link pin goes into and bolts up to. You just need to get a swaybar and the link pins. You can make the link pins yourself with two long high tensile bolts and a few nuts and washers and the bushes pretty easy too its what i have in the back of mine Quote
Paul Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 From what I've observed... KE70/AE71 seadans have 21mm swaybar, as do the wagons. KE70/AE71 panelvans have 23mm swaybar I recently put XT130 arms in my AE71 sedan, and an AE71 pano swaybar. I did notice that the holes in the LCA's for the link pins were further apart in the XT130 LCA's, so the link pins were a pain to install and would have looked like this / \ What i did to overcome it was heat the swaybar with an oxy (at the 90 degree bend where the D bushes go) to enable me to stretch the eye holes 10mm outwards each side. All on a workbench with stringline and tape measure in case you were visualising some bush mechanic shit. Are you in Melb? I have my old swaybar from the sedan still if you want it. Quote
86Ali Posted August 4, 2011 Author Report Posted August 4, 2011 Thanks heaps for the info people! I'm Actually in Brisbane, but thanks anyway. I am thinking of using one of these. http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_detail.php?part_number=BTF35Z I found a page on toymods where a guy had successfully used a AE86 sway bar on a KE70, so the link pin position on the XT130 Strut is my biggest concern. But, as you can see the link pin is an adjustable piece with 3 settings so I think I'll get away with it. Quote
