Fabz Posted July 27, 2011 Report Posted July 27, 2011 Ok guys Ive got a situation. My ke 30 is a pretty rusty thing. Well yeah the most serious rust seems to be around the front door hinges at the front where it's gone right through. Anyways If I were to get a decent shell with barely any rust and use that as my base would this be a better option as the shell will be just the shell. No engine etc Quote
GJM85 Posted July 27, 2011 Report Posted July 27, 2011 If its a shell that's prepped with no work involved other than swapping all the gear over, i'd say yes. But... when you pull a 35 year old car down, you will undoubtedly find things should be replaced.... We don't want your money, we just want you to spend it! Quote
Fabz Posted July 27, 2011 Author Report Posted July 27, 2011 Yeah what if I was in good nic. My roof is hail damaged go the max also Is it hard to put all the mechanicals into a car from scratch? Quote
altezzaclub Posted July 27, 2011 Report Posted July 27, 2011 Is it hard to put all the mechanicals into a car from scratch? nope- easier to swap mechanical bits than take out rust or panel-beat. Quote
t18drifts Posted July 27, 2011 Report Posted July 27, 2011 if you do that mark everything thast you pull of have it as organised as possible that way less chance of screwing shit up or get some one to help that knows what there doing :rolls: Quote
ke70dave Posted July 27, 2011 Report Posted July 27, 2011 i would bet that if you tried hard enough you could pick up a complete new ke30 in better condition for less than it cost a professional to fix that rust (if its as bad as it sounds) Quote
Fabz Posted July 28, 2011 Author Report Posted July 28, 2011 Yeah your probably right about that! There's just too much rust for my liking and experience. I think I might look for a shell then snap what's good over Quote
