ramithorn13 Posted December 17, 2011 Author Report Posted December 17, 2011 Hi, I have finally made it to the farm and tried to get the old ke10 running. Changed oil, plugs, leads and battery. After having a crack at the crankshaft, got it to turn over, but not start. Just had fuel line in tin, pulled fuel line off carbie and no fuel coming through when turning over. Is this just a broken fuel pump, or something to do with the carbie? Cheers Quote
Evan G Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 Yea the diaphragm in the fuel pump normally dries out Quote
philbey Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 Second that, fuel pump first check. Also if it's sat for a long time with an empty tank, you could have blockages as the dry tank scales up and flakes clog it. Quote
altezzaclub Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 I start my datto 1600 every 6months or so using a baked bean tin of fuel with the rubber hose from the fuel pump. Gives me instant fresh fuel each time. It might be better to run it like that then switch to the tank once you know it runs fine. Quote
ramithorn13 Posted December 19, 2011 Author Report Posted December 19, 2011 Got it running, sucked the crap fuel through, after a bit of effort she turned over! Now I need to work on getting it transported down to brisbane to bring her back to original glory! Quote
