The answer to having the rear end step out (which I've also had happen in a FWD on a wet road) is to accelerate. That way you keep the nose in front of the tail....

People don't, because it takes balls, its un-natural to go faster when you want to stop, and it takes practice. So when your FWD slides out everyone is just a passenger from that moment on, its just that some are holding a steering wheel. I'd include most racing drivers in this, there seem to be very few who can drift a FWD happily.

That's why I drive RWD.

I have found counter steering allot more effective in that situation as well as using the accelerator but never kicking the clutch!

You want to gain traction not loose it! I learnt that on the track in my AE82, in the wet and surprisingly in the dry as well. Had put in my

coil overs with an initial setup of -2.5 degree camber all round 6kg front 4kg rear and dampening set in the middle of the range (didn't have the specs so just set it there to see).

Ended up over steering on tight sweepers! Was definitely an interesting change from understeer to oversteer. Still see no need for clutch kicking!

+1 on converting to RWD

I guess different styles of driving. I definitely am going to stop riding the clutch. At the moment I'm trying to get the thing on the road to pass rego and then start the conversion to street legal rally car

Engine oil goes in engine, transmission fluid goes in transmission.

Bullshit, both your statement & sentence structure. :P

i know theres transmission oil as i had to drain it but when i say it sounds like oil in the gears i meant as in it sounded like tipping a bucket of water on the ground or something.

it turns out i ripped the clutch to shreds there was no meat on it at all. ive gotten myself an OE exedy clutch kit for $150 from Super Cheap Auto. And my mechanic is charging $420 to install the clutch, machine the flywheel, and refill the transmission oil. so all up $570.

Driving like a fool (nicest word I can find), on the street, with bald rear tyres. My question what if a kid walks out in front of you? or what happens if the unexpected happens. Good luck trying to pull that car up without killing yourself or others.

Bald front tyres. But as I said I only do that stuff on closed roads
