jonh ke11 Posted July 13, 2011 Report Posted July 13, 2011 Just wondering what diff upgrades for a ke11 diff is there or a diff replacement with minor mod like moving mounts around without shorting a diff Quote
Jordain Posted July 13, 2011 Report Posted July 13, 2011 Hey John. Good diff upgrade is mazda RX3 diff. 10mm longer than a KE10 diff, same 4x110 stud pattern and has slightly bigger drums on the rear not that it makes much difference but the main difference is theres LSD centres available for it. You can go down the R31/hilux way but they are a lot heavier and require shortening, but are also a lot stronger again. I have an RX3 diff to bolt into a KE1x series car... The LSD centre went walk about to a mate a while back and since then its sat around. I took it out because the car coped a 2L 3sge beams... and it would have blown the diff to bits, so I went down the Hilux LSD billet axled disc brake diff... No breaking that bad boy  Regards Jordain! Quote
jonh ke11 Posted July 13, 2011 Author Report Posted July 13, 2011 How about a rx7 s2 diff with different off set rims? Quote
Jordain Posted July 13, 2011 Report Posted July 13, 2011 Aren't all rx7 diffs independent rear end ? Quote
coln72 Posted July 13, 2011 Report Posted July 13, 2011 Early RX7's have the same stud pattern as KE20 Corollas, so I assume that KE10 would be the same. Quote
Jordain Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 s2 Rx7's run 4x110. I think they are abit wider than ke10.. 50mm roughly in the rear track. Doesn't help with the offset of rims, I know Rx3 diffs are a good option. I'll take some pictures of it today! :fuzz: Quote
jonh ke11 Posted July 14, 2011 Author Report Posted July 14, 2011 How strong is the rx3 diff would it handle 4age turbo Quote
philbey Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 Far out guys, RX3 diff must be one of the rarest diffs you could find, surely? Probably easier and cheaper to shorten a Lux diff and modify the hubs to suit 4x110. OR even better, to suit 4x114.3 so you can actually find good rims to suit. Quote
Jono.C Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 I'm after a ta22 diff for my '10. They're something like 55mm wider over all, aftermarket lsd's avaliable but 4x114.3 so doesn't really you. But as i've got ae86 front end she'll line up. You can run a ke20 with some mount modding theyre slightly wider, bigger drums and fair bit stronger. Plus still 4x110 pattern. Quote
Jordain Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 If your going 4agte pull your finger out and spend the money on something that won't break. I have a Hilux diff housing shortened to 1310mm, Prado 4x4 LSD, billet axles drilled to 4x110 but I'm changing it to 4x114.3 since theres hardly any wheels in 4x110. Its also got Rx7 discs and calipers.... Its a top diff, Heavy... but strong. :rolls: Quote
jonh ke11 Posted July 14, 2011 Author Report Posted July 14, 2011 How much would it cost to shorten a hilux diff Quote
