Evan G Posted July 12, 2011 Report Posted July 12, 2011 exhaust* don't go bigger than 2inch is a rule of thumb for k motors Quote
GJM85 Posted July 12, 2011 Report Posted July 12, 2011 (edited) There is actually a thread called "Hotdog Mufffler I think was floating round earlier. As said. 2inch from the tube headers joined with a flange, 2inch resonator into a 1 and 3/4inch pipe and then a glass pack sports muffler at the rear. FTW!!! If you had a 5k i'd advise a 2inch through and through... Edited July 12, 2011 by GJM85 Quote
frasian Posted July 12, 2011 Report Posted July 12, 2011 ive got a 1 3/4" exhaust on my 4k, worked similar to yours minus the dollerets. is sweet and sounds awesome, not t loud etcetc. Quote
Redwarf Posted July 12, 2011 Report Posted July 12, 2011 1 3/4 or 2". No bigger. I had a 2 1/4 on my stonking 1400cc 3K, and it was maybe a bit big even on that. Quote
altezzaclub Posted July 12, 2011 Report Posted July 12, 2011 Got carpet and soundproofing all around the inside of the van... Too much noise will be much more noticeable in there than in a saloon. here- http://autospeed.com.au/cms/article.html?&A=0383&P=1 Quote
john84ie Posted July 12, 2011 Author Report Posted July 12, 2011 thanks guys, the exaust shop dude reckoned 2' but wasnt sure if it would be too big..i would like some shotgun style straight pipes at the rear but don't want to jeperdise the little power i'll have,so would i be better off with a muffler at rear? Redwarf Posted July 12, 2011 Report Posted July 12, 2011 For the sake of your sanity and aural well being, yes, go the muffler. Quote

GJM85 Posted July 12, 2011 Report Posted July 12, 2011 wikipedia - Aftermarker exaust parts This should give you a better understanding of what your doing. Quote
philbey Posted July 13, 2011 Report Posted July 13, 2011 I run 1.75 extractors into a 2 inch exhaust on my worked, twin carb 5K. It boogies. Quote
