Hey all I'm putting a sr20 into my ke30 and was wondering if anyone here who has done it had to cut the tunnel, or modify it or the firewall in anyway to make it fit with clearances.

Also what did you do for engine mounts and gearbox mounts, did you modify existing or make new ones, etc.

If it helps its a standard auto ke30 body with a sr20 auto going in.

any info would be great.

No firewall mods required.

For the auto there is a fair bit of enlarging required for bellhousing clearance, the rest of the tunnel will also be pretty tight, but will likly clear with minor adjustments.

Cut all mounts off front crossmember and go from there, what platforms and mounts you choose is up to you.

I used celica ta22 mounts on the rewelded corolla platforms.

start from scratch for gearbox x member, it will turn out neater.

thanks dude, will look at splicing the tunnel and add widening strips, might have to get the motor in before i start the engine mounts.

just get the motor siting in position you want and tack your mounts to the crossmember and then take the cross member out if you like and weld it up and your done in the bay.
