Hiro Protagonist Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 http://www.carsales....62326&silo=1011 Very 'ahem' tasteful corona. Funnily enough, I know the guy (he's a Toymods member). Great guy, knows his stuff (except navigation :P), and has a true passion for his car, unlike some of the other efforts you see around. Quote
ke70dave Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 that 93k datsun is a bit....over priced. beautiful car, but i think 10-12k is a bit more reasonable. sure he has spent a fortune, but its just a 240Z. and yeah whats with the wheels, they belong on my mums ae101 corolla. Quote
philbey Posted July 7, 2011 Author Report Posted July 7, 2011 I didn't even need to look at the Corona ad to know which one it is. For 93K he is clearly trying to get back every dollar he's spent on it. Which we all know will never happen. Good condition 240z's though are definitely worth more than 10-12 grand, they're getting damn hard to find these days! A 260z perhaps not so rare. Quote
carbonboy Posted July 16, 2011 Report Posted July 16, 2011 Any chance of it being a typo of $9,300? Probably noticed it & thought "Bugger it I'll leave it there." :laff: Quote
clubby2084 Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 HEAPS of overpriced (emotional priced) cars on Carsales. How about a Mitsubishi Starion with 213 thousand kays on the clock for $43500.00?. This is no typo, if you read this guys add, he's dead serious. Probably why it's been on carsales for more than 2 years. A Gemini with a 4age convertion (sweet ex-show car) but $17000.00?. Steep. A Toyota Trueno GT, stunning example no doubt but, $29500.00. It's been advertised on car sales for AGES. That alone should be telling the owner something. Or an 81 KE55 with 4age/T50 conversion. Was $14500.00 several months later it's still $10500.00. Hey, it's a sweet little number, has sleeper written all over it. But c'mon, it's a 30 year old Corolla. Based on what I've spent on my VS Clubsport over the past 8years, it's rarity, it's condition and how much I'll cry when it's gone I reckon it's worth in the area of $80G. Hey don't laugh, it'll be worth that in about another 25 to 30 years. Save your self some time and buy it now... Quote
parrot Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 Any chance of it being a typo of $9,300? Probably noticed it & thought "Bugger it I'll leave it there." :laff: Very possible (I hope). You would reckon you would take the time to correct the multiple spelling errors in your ad if expecting someone with that much cash to come around for a look. But yes, I would think an immaculate 240Z would go for anywhere up to $20K Quote
philbey Posted July 18, 2011 Author Report Posted July 18, 2011 Nope, it's not a typo, he's easily spent that restoring the car and by the look of it, it's been done very nicely. Quote
Redwarf Posted July 18, 2011 Report Posted July 18, 2011 Work out what you've spent and ask a third. If it's as good as it looks, someone will pay 30K for that. Quote
Paul Posted July 18, 2011 Report Posted July 18, 2011 Worth 30+ yeah but not 93K Original AE71 with 127,000kms is worth 2500 easy in my opinion. Some people pay 500 bucks for an E7 and pour in too much money and time to have a car which worse than a nice original. Quote
GJM85 Posted July 18, 2011 Report Posted July 18, 2011 SEX! It does have a look that says, "ride me big boy". Quote
luke_ke Posted July 18, 2011 Report Posted July 18, 2011 this one has been up for as long as I can remember - i guess hes probably spent that much on it ...... and I can see the car has potential but..... $10500 and I'm pretty sure it was $11500 to start with - theres a pink coupe as well overrated but stock ... started at 12500!! 8500 or something now ... My link Quote
t18drifts Posted July 18, 2011 Report Posted July 18, 2011 thats been on carsales for about 1 and a half years Quote

My link Yep, that's the one I was talking about. T18drifts is about right, it's been on there for about 1 1/2 years, and it actually started around the $14G mark. Half his luck if someone falls for it. He's clearly in no rush. Quote
