Hey all

Regarding the front sway bar on ebay for the KE55.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Toyota-Corolla-KE30-55-74-81-excl-wagon-Swaybar-20mm-F-/130425004968?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e5defa3a8

Wondering if anyone out there has used this bar? If you have do they perform well? I would have thought seing as the stock one is 20mm already they

should make the performace one a litte bigger... But then again the quality of the steel used for the stock ones could have just been way down compared to 'Whiteline'.

Any info would be apreciated. Cheers

The steel grade makes little difference as the elastic modulus doesn't vary much.

Theyre either a different diameter, or arms are different length. Are you sure the factory ones isn't 18 -19mm and not 20.

Got one in my ke35. Was a upgrade there as they came with 19mm bar and rubber bushes stock .

Would be softer than a 21mm ke55 bar tho..

Mr philbey, 1981 ke55 came out with 21mm front sway bars

Fair dibs. Obviously the 20mm unit is targeted at the earlier models that came stock with 19mm items.

So in this case, a whiteline one would be a waste of time on a ke55.

Slap some of these on your stock one and you'll be good to go.

Cheers for the replies.

I must have measured a slightly skinnier part, it was definatly 20mm. The Whiteline one being a replacemnt for the earlier ke's makes sense. So ill give that bar a miss then.

I will definatly be putting the nolothane bushes in, always a good idea!

As for the KMAC bars ill have to get in touch with them, doesnt list one on the website. They do show the adjustable ones they make though... they could be fun, and I'm assuming pretty pricey if they have to make one up.

Ill post again when i find out some more.
