Hi all,

Just wondering what a nice spring rate F/R would be for ae71 hill climber? i would like it firm yet streetable, not drift spec stiff so i don't want to hear 8kg front and 6/7 on the rears as it's way too stiff for my application as i have read else where. I want some wheel "droop" as i have heard it called, so the wheel can move up and down not just up! I'll use stiffer sway bars to help eliminate body roll.

I have been looking at BC coilovers so if anyone has these on their car, ae86/ke70/ae71 it would be nice to hear what they are like quality wise/bang for your buck kind of thing.

Thanks

I had 8 front and 6 rear in my ke70, wasnt that hard... but less would have been good. 6.2 - 7 front and 4.5 rear seems to be the go.

Personally I don't think swaybars are really needed in the KE70/AE71 chassis, they are very oversteer prone anyway.

Maybe have a look at an option that allows you to use a good shock?

A lot will come down to your personal preference at the end of the day, not all people drive the same way.

6kg and around 4-5 for the rear is what I have read for track not drift, I have BC coilovers and rear springs in mine and the coilovers are base height adjustable and the rear shocks in the set are length adjustable as well.

8kg front and 6kg rear sucks for driving on the street, I think around 6kg front and 4kg rear would be nice.

I agree with KENut, look into a strut upgrade and consider modifying a set of struts to fit a good shock. Everyone always recommends Bilstein

Don't the BC coilovers run 8kg front/6kg rear spring rates anyway? I've read they're good, and I've also read they suck, but I haven't seen any effective comparisons, not that I would fully understand anyway...

For front I went 6kg after trying 8. Id go even softer if I did it again..4ish with better shock. Whatever cut standards are feels good in the rear. Can't be more than 2-3kg.
