Redwarf Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 I have my 25 on club plates. Your car need to be in the same condition as if you are registering it for the road. Roadworthy, blue plate requirements remain the same. You also require a letter from the club you belong to saying you're a current member and they know the car. It's actually more complicated getting a car on club rego than it is to get it on normal. Quote
Mason. Posted June 24, 2011 Author Report Posted June 24, 2011 ohh, well in that case never mind :) I was under the impression that the car could be in any condition. topic can be locked :) Quote
TE278U Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 different states, different rules. VIC is quite good at the moment. cars have to be in a roadworthy condition. rust doesn't really cut it. period modifications are allowed here within reason. you don't have to have a stock car to have club permit. even though it won't help you at the moment, head over to www.tccav.org.au and click the club plates tab. it explains it pretty well. if you ever move down here, we'd be happy to have you. :D Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 ohh, well in that case never mind :) I was under the impression that the car could be in any condition. topic can be locked :) Not so fast. Buy it and survive it. Its still a rolla. Quote
Mason. Posted June 24, 2011 Author Report Posted June 24, 2011 Not so fast. Buy it and survive it. Its still a rolla. negative, I liked it how it is. That thing would take alot of $zeros to restore. Rust is not a Crime! Quote

TE278U Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 all the ADR's that your car was built to meet in that year must still be complied with today. if it had no seatbelts in the back, you don't need seatbelts in the back today. there is a plate on all rolla's that has numbers and comma's on it. this tells you which ADR's it has to comply with. the earlier ones don't have as many numbers as you would imagine, and don;t usually have any pollution requirements. Redwarf Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 For example a rusted out vw beetle, as long as it hold standard rego. does it need to comly with rules like height restrictions and other suchs mods? Yes it does. Quote
jimmy-d Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 No matter what the age or type of vehicle,no matter what state your in,if you want to drive it on the road it HAS to comply with that states roadworthy/licensing requirements, you can't cheat your way out of it by saying that your shitbox has class and deserves to be allowed on the road because its a classic, thats just the way it is! ke70dave Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 I think a car is only orinal once. why restore it? This thing is pretty enough how it sits even though its full of rust. Its pretty you serious? fix the rust.... Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 There are enough rusty POS dangerous cars on the road as it is. 2 Quote
