we had the springs out completly we wanted to see how low it was on bump stops it was still legal at 115mm from the ground at the lowest point the limit is 100m so yeah good times

yea i'm not against spring cutting.. not really a fan of it either but... as long as decent stiff shocks are used i reckon its fine.. and i normally cut two things off the rubber bump stops when cutting springs.. so it still has a bit of travel in it.

Ok crosmember is done and fuel system in 90% done now i need to extend the tailshaft

was thinking of cutting the ae86 and ke70 shafts and machining a piece to fit inside

each and extend it 40mm then weld it in has any1 done tailshaft extentions before and

will it need balancing?

Just take it to a shop mate, all of their fab work will be covered by some kind of warranty and they will do it once, and do it right.

 

I'm not doubting your fabrication skills, just for the little expense they charge it will give you peace of mind.
