Spencer[RL] Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 I think we should start a thread to show off our tools. I got this Ratchet from Lazza its so Clever Quote
RainWarriorDregs Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 yeah i used a few extensions and a 14mm socket. i don't remember any of those bolts being a hassle. Quote
Mason. Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 (edited) haha i didnt have a drama with it. now ill just say it cause everyone else has.... 14mm socket + 10' extension = peice of cake Edited June 16, 2011 by Mason. Quote

I got this Ratchet from Lazza its so Clever I got the Sichrome version of that, everyone at work was hell impressed. Awesome for doing up seat bolts under the buses. These manifold nuts just take patience but I think one of the best tools you can use is those Snap-On half clicky things, the extension bar that has a ball on the end so you pull the socket off one click and it acts as a uni joint. love ke70 Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 you don't need a uni you can get to straight on, i did mine with an extension and a rattle gun with the motor out, and an extension and a ratchet with the motor in. those bolts are nothing compared to some ive done... Quote
altezzaclub Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 oooh that Lazza system is clever! I slipped my hands in from each end, underneath the manifolds, but there is just no room anywhere on that side of the engine. Should've been an upright crossflow!! Quote
Mitch-12 Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 i can get it off in about 5 minutes intake and exhaust Quote

philbey Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 Abysmal design- they should've subcontracted the K engine to Nissan! I take it you've never pulled a plenum off a CA18 then! you don't need a uni you can get to straight on, i did mine with an extension and a rattle gun with the motor out, and an extension and a ratchet with the motor in. those bolts are nothing compared to some ive done... Agreed, if the k manifold is the hardest you've come across you're doing alright. A bit of practice and you'll be able to do it in no time. Quote
