rolla-man12 Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 hey I'm building a ke10 racecar and was wondering if anyone knows if a buick v6 3.8litre from a commodore fit in a 1969 ke10? Quote

towe001 Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 :hmm: where does the motor have to be positioned ? Or rather where do you want the motor to be positioned ? And where do you want to have the drivers seat ? If it was me, i'd put the motor about half way past the firewall into the cabin, sit the drivers seat to the left side of the car about where the B-pillar is and ditch the rear cart springs for IRS. Motor would be in the better spot for good handling, drivers position would help with reducing the car twisting under power and the power to weight should launch it out of corners like a scolded cat. ae95- wagon kid Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 Good one evan ;) mate anything can be done with time and money. if you can do it yourself and have the tools then go for it there would be a few posts on here abou similar or the same swap. ie can i put a v6 into a ke70 or can i put a commodore motor in a ke30 with a welded diff anyhow think about what you want it to be used for and how much you have to spend. altezzaclub Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 It'll fit, no sweat- just don't try and do any work on it without removing it from the car. What are you racing against? Other cars with pissweak brakes, atrocious suspension and massive engines that give abysmal weight distribution? Then you'll do OK... I assume the reason you're looking at a V6 is that you have one (or two or 5) gathering dust in the corrner of the garage because no-one wants them, and you feel their massive 147KW is better than 150+ out of some 4cyl lightweight Toyota 3S engine... 1 Quote
