GJM85 Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 .... lots and lots..... more than any man could afford on the average Australian wage. You would have to be on the super rich list and then also get a hefty loan just to afford the down payment. Quote
love ke70 Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 gjm, not necessarily true, i need to ring a guy about getting billets for my 1g made, but he was implying it was affordable... Quote
GJM85 Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 gjm, not necessarily true, i need to ring a guy about getting billets for my 1g made, but he was implying it was affordable... Yeah I was just taking the piss. Not even sure what the real benefit of a billet cam would be anyhow. Quote
altezzaclub Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 You can cut a bigger cam but keep the rockers in the right orientation... ie- its better overall. You need a manudacturer making the billet, so while they will still make them for modern cars I'm afraid 4K billets probably haven't been made for years. Like Lynx inlet manifolds, 4-2-1 extractors, LSD units... Quote
styler Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 Also you can hardface a normal cam to cut big grinds and keep the same valvetrain geometry. Quote
altezzaclub Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 So.. does that mean you add metal by welding up the cheeks and lobe end, to keep the base circle in the same place?? Quote
