B.L.Z.BUB Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 Paint will be the last thing I do on this one. Gonna have to get a welder though. Quote
Willis Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 $1200 for an LSD, um, no :P Peanut aint a race car. Thought they were closer to $1000..Was just thinking a new LSD would be nicer than a second hand one. And those LSD disc rear ends go for around $1200-$1500 anyway?.. Quote
Jono.C Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 Paint will be the last thing I do on this one. Gonna have to get a welder though. Don't get a gasless. Seriously. Mines just OK now but I wouldn't do anything that had to be strong with it.. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 Yeah Ill get gas/gassless. On the hunt for rims. Would love to find a good set of XR4's to replace my 'fake' wheels. Quote
Willis Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 I've always thought that mesh goes well on beige 70's. SSR, Volk, whatever. It's all good Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 I actually want a set of widened steelies, but seem harder to find than things that are hard to find Quote
Jono.C Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 Get yours widened, that's how they happen! Quote
Jono.C Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 (edited) I like that car. They're only around 100 each to have them widened. Edited August 30, 2012 by Jono.C Quote
rian Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 I remember people saying their steel wheels were around $150 or more to get widened by Dr Wheels. So it would be ~$600, probably more now, to get steel wheels widened. Not exactly cheap but damn they look cool. I think I'm going to get my stock wheels widened after I get my car on the road. Quote
Jono.C Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 Well mine were 100 so maybe it depends where you get them done? Quote
Jono.C Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 I reckon width is a factor as well, more width = wider band = more steel. I remember I got mine and they were "shitty" or pov. Now everything thinks they're amazing. Quote
rian Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 Well mine were 100 so maybe it depends where you get them done? That's not so bad, wouldn't really hesitate at that price. But if it were over $600ish I'd probably rather buy some secondhand alloy wheels. When you got yours done did they just cut the barrel and weld in a strip to widen it or did they replace the entire outer barrel? I've heard of places doing it both ways, would rather get the entire outer barrel replaced. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 I was setting aside a grand for wheel and tyres. It's doable Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 Whaddaya reckon those wheel specs are. Pretty tempting. Quote
