carbonboy Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 (edited) I had a win today. It started off with the loss of the CS-X badge on the hatch of my 82. Got to work and noticed the badge gone. Bugger. Looked on fleabay, plenty of expensive Toyota badges but no CS-X badges. Went to the wreckers and could only find one busted up, faded thing. Not worth saving. So I went to Toyota just for laughs. Scuse me mate, do you have a CS-X badge for the hatch lid on a 87 AE82. (I was expecting him to say "a WHAT!") "Yes, we have them in stock". :blinks: Bulls**t, REALLY?!, fantastic, how many hundreds of dollars do you need for one of those?, I ask. "$6.45" Your F**kin with me!. Did you read that right, did you miss a zero there somewhere?. "Nah mate, $6.45". I asked him to repeat that twice more before he ordered me the badge. I must of come off as some complete whack job, "Dah, how much was that again mista". I didn't think they'd still have one, let alone for $6.45!. Chuffed... Massive win! Surprised Toyota have ANYTHING in stock for an AE82, let alone that cheaplll :D Edit: Redwarf, just out of curiosity, does that VW assist come standard with the car or is it an optional extra upon purchase? Aside from the minor inconvenience of no hire car, that's being looked after pretty nicely! :) Edited October 28, 2011 by carbonboy Quote
Redwarf Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 Standard with the car, possibly for the duration of the warranty? I've had the car 20 months and it still covers me. :) Quote
towe001 Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 We've got the same thing with the lancer, a 5 year roadside assist as long as we get the car serviced by an approved mechanic at least once per year. Quote
carbonboy Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 Not a bad deal in either case. :hmm: Nope, still can't afford a new car yet. Quote
clubby2084 Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 Massive win! Surprised Toyota have ANYTHING in stock for an AE82, let alone that cheaplll :D Me too. Last time I went to Toyota for parts I was after a temperature sensor for the 4 speed auto in my AE82 (It stops the gearbox from using 4th until the gearbox/engine is up to temp). Yes, they could get it, ex Japan, and that will be $740.00. WTF, I don't want the whole bloody gearbox, just a temp sensor. To hell with that!. Imagine my surprise at a cheap part from Toyota. STILL chuffed... Quote
