shLONG13 Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 (edited) Thought i would chuck up the old mans build. He has had this car for over 30 years now, was used to tow his supersedan around, as a daily driver and as a work hourse. So he decided it was time to give her a freshen up before she wasted away after all these years. Took just over a year to finish but came up sweet. He decided to throw a v6 in it so he could drive it reguarly and be a nice comfortable car but then it got out of hand and it was turned into a toy car that rarely comes out of the shed. He also had the idea of it being cheap to run but that idea went down the drain when he had thoughts of supercharging it like his other car :rolls: So he went out an brought a Holden VS ute that was a repairable write off and took the engine, gearbox and the computer and heaps of other bits out of it to put in the van. To fit the engine he orded an engine conversion kit for a WB to fit a v6 and it went in pretty easy. He also used the seats out of the VS instead of running the old bench seat and just got them recovered in the original vinyl and pattern. You just can't get the boy out of the man :no2: So here it is, hope you all like it  Edited May 30, 2011 by shLONG13 Quote

Evan G Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 what he said^^^^^!!! and the engine hat colour and headlight surroundings Quote
Spencer[RL] Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 Love the wheels, actually just love everything , but chrome bumper would be nice! Top work! Quote
shLONG13 Posted May 31, 2011 Author Report Posted May 31, 2011 (edited) The reason the bumpers, grill and headlight surrounds are all colour coded is because thats the way they come out. This model is the standard workmans commercial model and these plastic headlight surrounds and grill are very rare and hard to come by and if you do come by them they are usualy stuffed. Also if we got the front one chromed we would of had to get the rear ones done as well and the chromers down here in tassie are really dear, would be close to a grand for them to be done. So we decided to be different and keep it the way it was (original) instead of changing it to chrome like all the other ones getting around. As for the engine bay, still finishing it of, yet to have chrome rocker covers, wiring covered up, custom made alumminium washer bottles and the writing on the engine cover has to be painted silver. Thanks for the comments guys, hopefuly my ke70 turns out as good  :y: Edited May 31, 2011 by shLONG13 Quote

Onikage Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 Looks really tidy! Must be fun to drive with a 5 speed behind the ecotec motor. Not a fan of the unboxed pod, personally i'd make/buy an enclosure for it, but then again some people like to show off their pods. Quote

Cheers, yeah it heaps of fun, deffinatley put you back in the seat, goes better than we expected because its pretty light. As for the pod, the donar car didnt have a air box so we just but a new pod on it and it. Was thinking of putting a cappa supercharger on it like the one on dads commadoor in the photo, so the pod wont stay there if gets one. Quote
