Just wondering if anyone has used 4x110 to 4x100 wheel adapters 1inch thick,

I know they are illegal but so are spacers and I know of heaps of guys running spacers.

Is there any performance problems with running adapters?

in theory they arent the best idea as they put extra stress on your wheel studs. so the best thing to do is to replace all the wheel studs when you get them, never know what quality the wheel studs that come with it are.

in reality very few people have any dramas with them.

yes they are illegal.

yeah good point I have spoken to some wheel distributers over the phone and one of the guys uses them on his car. the ones he uses are from the uk and the standards are a lot then australias standards and he has never had any clients have any problems and either has he except when you get caught by the :fuzz: I guess thats the risk you take.

The only problem I could see for you is that an extra inch on a ke11 wouldn't give you much to play with as far as wheel width! Also just wondering why your going 4x100? I would have thought 4x114.3 due to wheel availability!

If you're running a 1" thick spacer then that would bump your offset towards FWD territory (+30->+50), of which 4x100 is probably more numerous than 4x114.3.

I've got some on my mazda, 4x110 to 4x114. Now I can just pick any fwd wheel really. I actually got mine made locally in a mini group buy. Never had an issue. If u get some make sure the centre bore hole is correct.

I'd be inclined not to use them unless they're hub centric..

I have a set of 30mm bolt on spacers on my celica, not adaptors but same principle

One pair is hub centric, other pair is not, so i put the hub centric ones on the front, because i'd prefer if something happened that a rear would break.

But i've had mine 12 months with no problems

Yeah thanks for all that info guys, I think I'm going to do it correctly and stay with the current stud pattern, but I can't decide if I should run flares or not what are your opinions?

The wheels I'm going to purchase are a set of superlite rims 15x7 fronts and 15x8 rears, and tyres will be 185/50/15 fronts and 205/55/15 rears (thats with flares) or 195/55/15 rears and 175/50/15 (without flares).

this is what they will be going on and I'll keep the standard rims and get the rears widened incase I want to run down the strip in the future.

Yeah cheers you guys may have changed my mind about the whole wheel thing, I would really like to waken this 7k up or save some more money for Rwd 20v, I just don't know what to do there is to many options.

Your car looks friggin sweet as it is... don't mess with it too much!

I think those 15's will look overly massive on your KE10 and the guard flareage would be a sad thing for such a sweet little car.

What about widened stockies?

Either way. each to their own, your car, your choice :)
