Greetings. I hope this is the right section for this, I did not see an Introduction section, and I did look. My name is Pierce Ford, and I live in Richmond, Virginia, which is almost literally the other side of the world from most of you. I recently bought a 1969 Toyota Corolla Sprinter for 300$, which allegedly has only 320 ORIGINAL miles on it (Sorry, I don't know what that is in kilometers, lol!). Some pictures for you:

When I first saw it:

I obviously have my work cut out for me, LOL!

I'd appreciate some info as well, does anyone know of a forum based in the U.S. that deals with these cars? I'm going to need a lot of parts, and I'd like to not have to ship everything from Australia if I don't have to, lol.

Fantastic find! I'd love to see this hit with rust converter, new tyres put on, engine changed for a runner (or engine fixed if possible)... then driven as is

That would be an awesome sight driving down the road!

Welcome to Rollaclub! Great to see some more shots after the teaser on JNC.

At least it looks to be basically complete, and the chrome and interior detail stuff which is very hard to find, all looks to basically be there. There are a couple of guys in the US /Canada with KE15/17's. But realistically I have only seen related American stuff come up on JNC or sometimes 3TCgarage.com, which seems to act as the defacto pre mid 1980's Corolla site for your side of the pond. KE15/17 specific parts are just as hard to find in Australia, and often priced accordingly.

It looks like the hanging panels are your main issue, which I imagine you don't want to ship anyway!

Do please keep us up to date with your developments, as I am fascinated to see how you get on. If I happen to notice anything I shall pass it on to you.

Glad to see you're realistic & not afraid to tackle it!

Welcome to Rollaclub! :y:

^^^ Parrot's one of the guys with the goods on the info you're after. I don't envy you trying to track down KE1x Corolla bits, all the best of luck!! Ditto for keeping this thread updated, I'm interested to see how it comes up! :)

Hi ,Looking at the photos of your acquisition you certainly have picked one with plenty of work.Basically what you need is another body shell. I take it they are not plentyful in USA. I have owned 10 sprinters fully restoring 3 of them, and 11 KE10 coupes. At the present moment am on the final stages of another KE17 sprinter. I have a shed full of spares and know where there are another 2 unrestores sprinters. If I can be of any help contact me. I am in Brisbane Queensland Australia.

Cheers

I got a few spares for KE15's.

If theres no severe rust in the shell keep it and just source some new guards, bonnet and all the chrome trims... shipping would be abit but not outrageous

Where was the car stored?! in the ocean?

You might need some new tyres too ;)

:P

Sorry bout that. had to say it! In all seriousness though, I'm keen to see what you do with this. good luck man. Hopefully Lou in Brisbane can help you out :)

Have you thought of straightening the rusted panels and making moulds for fibre glass replacement panels? Might be a cheaper option rather than shipping parts from all over US or even Australia. You have defiantly got your work cut out for you but with lots of persistence you'll get there. keep us updated.

Cheers, Crowie
