heads off to the machinist. his gonna check the guides/seats

ill be putting a STUPID cam in this ( 3 - 7 grand ), valve springs have been organised.

my machinist has honed the block and all thats left is for him to install the cam bearings. once this is done ill take the block and put the bottom end together, take it back there where the compression ratio will be measure. shave the head accordingly. then put the cam in. check the lifter preloads and she'll be good to assemble and paint.

10.5:1 + decent cam = silent reliable 7 grand shifts PLUS barp barp barp barp :D

Can people please note, that the pics GJM has posted are NOT 3K-B!

3K-B manifolds are the twin carb ones, and have a water jacket in the manifold itself with an extra bolt and water port in the flanges.

It's off a 3k and it has big ports... :wtf: If there is another name for it then perhaps you can enlighten me.

I think he's saying there's a difference between 3k-b and 3k-bp. I'm pretty sure that 3k-b was the one released with twin carbs.

You've put up a 3K Bigport manifold. Which has a corresponding 3K Bigport head.

Now, 3K-B is a twin downdraft carb motor. With a 3K-B manifold and again, corresponding 3K-B head.

Difference is the twin carbs (obviously) and the fact the head and manifold have an extra bolt and a water port. For the water jacket in the 3K-B manifold.

Edit: To my knowledge, there is no designation for a Bigport Head

'Misplaced'... how the fork do you 'misplace' rods & pistons?!? What a pain in the ass!

Worried about potentially using your machinist now. :P
