Ke2* Door Mirror Options

Alright guys need some help.

the door mirror I'm using looks shit..

so what i want to no is, what mirrors fit and what mirrors look good. looking more towards chrome.

pictures would make this even easier

also not goin for fender mirrors as the car has just been painted and no longer an option lol.

There was a thread last week discussing mirror options but unfortunately I can't seem to find it. I'm also looking at mirror options for my KE36.

 

I thought that these looked ok and can be picked up at Autobarn or Supercheap, but may look cheap and tacky in person?

I'm also looking at something like these (to suit Valiants) but not sure if I can justify the cost or if they'll fit properly as the kexx doors are basically vertical at the mounting point so the arms will stick out too far and the mirrors will sit quite low.

I strongly recommend against buying something like these as they will not fit as KExx doors due to the above issue with the mounting point being vertical and the short length of the stem. I bought a pair on a whim and the mirrors sat too low.

If anyone has any suggestions or mirrors to offer up please get in touch. Ideally I'd like a pair as panel vans/wagons have an annoying blind spot.

I'd be weary of anything coming out of Taiwan as they can be partially made up of chrome plastic that can look a bit cheap and nasty and not very durable. They look nice and shiny in the photo though!

 

I'd be interested in original mirror/s too as per the panel van above if anyone has any spare.

I found that those chrome mirrors on the panelvan (which are KE20 style) have the same screw spacing as most early (ie 70's) Toyotas. I tried a KE20 mirror on my 76 Crown and it fits perfect and suits the era. You will find they fit KE3x etc also.

 

I just need to find a overrated pair and I would whack them on.

 

They are by far the best looking mirror of that era and sure beat the elephant ear black plastic things that KE30's and that came with.

 

I have a friend who works at Toyota seeing if they still can be found new :blush:

A few people in the Celica crowd have these euro style mirrors. I have the Vitaloni California style mirrors on my ke20.
