Mason. Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 Hey guys, just want to know if the 5k hydraulic rocker gear needs to be torqued down to a certain point? http://www.rollaclub.com/hosted/5K_info.pdf I read through that link and couldnt find info on the rocker gear, thanks in advance :) Quote
kickn5k Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 I'd imagine it would be same as 3,4k rockers. Make sure you check lifter preload at the same time if you have changed the cam. Stu. Quote
GJM85 Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 (edited) I'd imagine it would be same as 3,4k rockers. Make sure you check lifter preload at the same time if you have changed the cam. Stu. Lifter pre-load in hydraulic lifter pushrod motors becomes an issue when the head thickness is changed (*shaving) or the cam profile is modified. Otherwise tensions are as standard. And for the above I think 40 pounds on the torque wrench would be plenty..... Edited April 28, 2011 by GJM85 Quote
philbey Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 (edited) Yeh just use the same as 4k torque. Lifter preload has nothing to do with the rocker post torque settings though. Edited April 28, 2011 by philbey Quote
