Crowie55 Posted May 2, 2011 Author Report Posted May 2, 2011 (edited) Few little updates ladies and gent, chrome ke30 bars purchased, spare guards and bonnet primed and sprayed ready for clear and install once the rest of the car is done. Aussie export FTMFW. :y: enjoy. EDIT: Also lowered the beast a good 3 inch, surprisingly smooth yet sporty the ke70 guards look fat once low even with stocko's on  Cheers, Crowie. Crowie55 Posted May 5, 2011 Author Report Posted May 5, 2011 Lowered with tyres on rims 175/60/r14 still a long way to go. Want to lower it another inch in the rear and inch and a half on the front. I have a couple of idea's floating around that will make this thing stand out from other ke wagons, I'll do some experimenting and see how that goes. Also purchased some solex locks to go in my spare doors that are being prepped separate to the car, along with the bonnet and front quarters. Rough and a long way to go, finally getting some motivation to work on this thing, excited to get home from work and fix something before the day ends. Criticism welcomed. Quote

Ella Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 lol aussie export, that stuffs horrid itll look like ass within a few months, don't spend all that time with great prep work and cheap out on the paint. loving this apart from aussie export rattle cans! Quote
Oh-KE Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Have to agree with ella on that one ~ aussie export FTL.. seriously shit paint man. I used kill rust on my wagon to paint the bonnet and guards and all the touch ups. I rolled it on too lol looks pretty good still, same as when I did it, although next time I'm upgrading to boat paint! :P Quote
4DRFRK Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 (edited) Brad car is filthy hot and i would do nasty things to it but seriously say no to export buy dulux or something or some $60 for 4 litre acrylic white on another note RED firewagon red shit photo after they ruined it by making it too clean and ugly headlights but the jist its there Edited May 5, 2011 by 4DRFRK Quote
Crowie55 Posted May 6, 2011 Author Report Posted May 6, 2011 Spoken to a few people and also read comments you guys have said about aussie export, It turns yellow after a few months ect. I have taken it all on board, thanks for the slap over the head. I'm now buying some paint and borrowing or buying my own paint stuff to do the entire respray. Wagon is booked in for an exhaust this morning at 10:30, 2inch sport system with a little dump tip nothing fancy, as the stock one is rattling and leaking everywhere. 4DRFRK - I'm assuming you are dan, red is growing on me and it would also be origionalish for a 38 wagon so I'm going to have to think about it, I like the fire stencil as well. Cheers, Crowie. Quote
4DRFRK Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 (edited) Just whoring it up ... also if you stencil it the paint and body work of the rest of the car doesnt need to be perfect as the focus will be on the stencil/signwriting rather than the paintwork maybe get them done up on 10 year vinyl that way if you ever want to remove them it wont damage paint ... should only cost you $200 - $ 300 odd doll hairs to get it all cut out Edited May 6, 2011 by 4DRFRK Quote
Crowie55 Posted May 8, 2011 Author Report Posted May 8, 2011 Got a bit of work completed on the weekend, now sporting 5 gears instead of the stock 4, both front guards and bonnet are on, another coat of primer added, front apron sprayed in primer, radiator support sprayed. ke30 chrome front bumper on and gave her a service. Took it up to the hills yesterday with my brother for a scoot, found some ripper roads that are very tight and windy, cambered corners and all, just cut loose and had a ball. Rad Support before Rad support after old red and young red Safety first kids. I really like the import ke30 bonnet, real chrome inserts  Me and my brother at the top of the mountain. Quote

PHATKE20S Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 (edited) I bought it with big intentions of reliving good times I had with my Mustard KE36. Couldn't find the time (or folding) to get anything happening so out the backyard it went, under the tree for the birds to crap on...lol Realised it had a lot of storage potential so it was a great shed for a few months until somebody saved her (Brad was the one to bring her back to life) and the rest is history. I am very proud to see this progressing so well Edited May 12, 2011 by PHATKE20S Quote
