KEI069 Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 what is the dwell set on the electronic dissy? should be around the 42 degree mark how will dwell only affect two cylinders. if you have already tried new plugs, leads, coil and another dizzy and the problem is still on the same two cylinders, it will more than likely be a problem with those two cylinders. Hope you get it sorted mate Quote
Trev Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 Swap the leads around and see if the new cylinder is doing it, sounds like a resistance issue in the leads. Quote

Trev Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 Yeah I may have to ditch the 16$ Bosch leads.... Nah just swap the 2nd lead for the 1st and the 3rd for the 4th and see if 1 and 4 then does it. Quote
GJM85 Posted April 25, 2011 Author Report Posted April 25, 2011 (edited) OK. f@$ked around and f@$ked around until everything was sore or spent. No progress. Narrowed it down and confirmed #3 & 4 cylinders are misfiring. Swapped lead and plugs and dignity. Nothing changed. When I hold the leads close but not on the plugs it fires up good enough to set the idle and timing. Otherwise its bullshart. The distributor is going to the auto electricians. If that doesn't fix it... Thors hammer will!!! Edited April 25, 2011 by GJM85 Quote
