67Rolla-Ken Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 I tried the eb falcoon thing... it lasted a month with my driving  If you want something to slide I would recommend an early 80's Rona... and not doing it on the road. You said you had a Rona as a paddock basher, well I've found my 83 Rona has the best steering as far as being able to feel what the car is doing but still easily flick it around. Not much power but as with most Toyota's, she'll do what ever you make her do ;) And T18drifts, sounds like you've been listening :) Can't wait to watch you drifting down at Barbagallo!
t18drifts Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 thanks ken yeah I'm mad keen to get up to barbagallo just have these great debates in my head every day about the lack of power isue that i will have considering that its a fast track :blinks:

SLW42 Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 (edited) ef + body roll = slideee I will agree, but they do it sooooooo well, I have video evedence to back it up :D Ok so you want to know what corolla slides best..... ke70 will straight out of the box, coil sprung ass end FTW, then you can cut the springs, get short shocks, adj. Panhard rod, and go for gold on a skid pan, a k series corolla will fail to slide in the dry, unless you spend a shit load of dosh on it. As much as I hate nissans I have to agree with ke70dave here go buy a natro silvia and learn that way SKIDPANS ARE BEST, Trust me when I say learn to slide the xr6, straight outta the box the pwn any stock rolla ten times over, I have had falcons sliding many a time and the most fun i've had in a car was on track or skidpan, The reason people are hating is because you have said yourself you would do it on the street where nobody is around, but what you don't realise is there are always people around, be it highway, industrial estate, main road, side road. There are always people floating around SOMEWHERE, and the last thing we want to hear about is you or someone you know being injured from a late night industrial skid sesh gone wrong I am not one to talk as I have had my industrial estate nights, but as soon as I got on the skid pan I never returned to an industrial estate again Edited April 21, 2011 by SLW42
wEnDy-LaD Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 do what i do in my mates ke70 with an underpowered 4k, rusted body and stock diff on a wet road. he'll be driving while i'll be in the back seat, then as he turns and drops the clutch, i throw myself into a back door opposite to the way he's turning. she'll keep sliding as long as you keep throwing your weight around. 2
basher_ke20 Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Over run by questions about illegal activity? Put your skirt back on! And all bullshit aside, this website would not be shut down because of one topic that hints towards driving illegally, realistically. just look up ae86dc, that will cover ke70 and ae86.

B.L.Z.BUB Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 I havent mentioned the word drift, Drift/slide, whats the difference? Is one way more hektic and awesomer than the other? I agree, go pollute AE86DC or Boost with this shlt.

Twinky Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 (edited) Wow this thread is outa controll! Just like the OP wants to be on a public road. Read your first post and then think about it for a second. You stated you are on your Ps and that you want to drift on the road and not the track. How do you think people are going to react? Those of us who prefer to keep the crazy shit to the track are sick of streeters getting corollas flagged as "hoon" cars. If you had a wealth of experience you would not be asking these silly questions because you would know how mutch power is needed to drift/slide a car and actually have fun with it. any car can enter a corner sideways but then powering out is another issue. The 4k is a tough little engine but it can't handle a beating for long. Your diff and gearbox would get constantly destroyed as they are too weak. The most fun you can have with these old things is on a paddock or dirt track. There are plenty of opportunities to legally slide so why bother on the roads? I know that as soon as i went to the race track the roads were no longer fun to drive on and I am constantly craving to go back again. I know we all did our stupid shit when we first got our licences, but seriously. Keep it to yourself and you won't sound like a schoolkid on his holidays. Funny how we are in school holidays, well in SA anyway.... Edited April 21, 2011 by Twinky
ae95- wagon kid Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 This is also one of the reasons ke70's are going to be as rare as rocking horse sh#t in the future get your cam's and take it to the track drift practice is always a good start you can learn what makes a car slide and how to control it through corners etc if you can't do this go to a private property with minimal trees and people the last thing we on Rolla club would endorse is sliding on a public road- loosing control+ inexperienced driver = death to themselves and or innocent people just my 2 cents worth
