rolla80 Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 Honestly; this is the best option. I'm running about .480 lift with the Crow 4220's, no problems. Direct fit. hey philbey, what cam you got, and is it lumpy ?? and can you just use the standard 4k collets and retainers with the 4220?? Quote
rolla80 Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 resurface the lifter $8 each double valve springs $95 compression 10:1 extractors port matching and intake port to be opened up weber THERE IS NO POINT DOING JUST A CAM! you have to do the whole lot to get decent power results. what springs you recommend? and i already got 32/36 weber and I'm new to this so what you mean by port matching ? and how do you adjust compression ?? 1 Quote
Evan G Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 i really cbf explaining it. google it my friend. use the double valve springs as listed in the other page Quote

A previously stated... crow cams double valve sprins, I'm running a cam with 0.423" lift with standard 5k springs which are about 1/2 a coil taller than 4k springs. Port mactching is where the intake and/or exaust ports of the cylinder head are machined out to match the ports of the intake manifold and/or extractors. The creates a more flow of gases in and out of the engine. "how do you adjust compression ??" :bash: I'll let someone else answer that. Quote
altezzaclub Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 You will have to decide what head work you want done, unshrouding valves and such-like, then measure the area of the combustion chamber and its volume. From that you can calculate how much to tell the engineer to skim off the head to get your desired compression. Its about 5years of work learning all this shit and making mistakes, but don't let that stop you. Read this- http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/42407-the-girls-ke70/ Quote
altezzaclub Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 Ah yes, I thought I'd answered you before Josh- maybe you didn't see it... Do you just want the noise of a grumpy idle, or do you have a use for the better performance in a certain rev range that a re-ground cam can bring?? Go read a lot more on this site and come back with a list of what you want from the car when you've finished modding it, what you want to do to get there, and how much money you have. You'll need to sort carbs, exhaust, head porting, balancing, drivetrain etc. $10grand would build you a nice 4K.... Quote
GJM85 Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 (edited) If your spending 10k on a 4k your not right in the head. But at the same time 10k would make a very angry 4k. Especially after you sent me 6k. Edited November 24, 2011 by GJM85 Quote
