DZach23 Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 what is the best way to remove the front k-frame with engine and tranny still attached? and do I have to undo the steering. (i got a gregory's service and repair manual but it isn't helpful) Quote
styler Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 (edited) Remove engine and transmission together, remove crossmember, re-attach crossmember... Or Remove car off cross member If the steering is attached to the crossmember, then yes. Is there some reason behind this? Edited April 18, 2011 by styler Quote

towe001 Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 You'll have to remove the lower control arms from the x-member and the drag link from between the steering box and the idler arm. Quote
Andy43 Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Here's how I would do it I think Pop the engine out I would remove the struts. Undo steering box and idler arm from subframe, Option could be to disconnect ball joints here as well Undo steering coupleing, Undo K frame bolts from subframe Remove subframe There a proberly at least 6 ways of going about it, Depending on what every thing is like.
