7FOUR7 Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 G'day I'm converting the ke to manual at the moment and I'm up to dropping the auto out. In the repair manual it says to unbolt the transmission from the bellhousing and remove the transmission, then the bellhousing after that? Can't I just drop it all as one? Thanks Quote
towe001 Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 Its how i did it. But then again, i did pull the whole she-bang out of the car first before removing the transmission off the motor. From memory the torque converter was connected to the transmission shaft and the converter is bolted to the flywheel. I'm not sure on that one. But i do remember having to go under the sump to unbolt the converter. Which, no matter how much oil had been drained from the auto, will still have a load of oil in it. Quote
Jono.C Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 We pulled the auto box out as one thing in a corona, unbolted the tailshaft from the diff and just dropped her out Quote
7FOUR7 Posted April 17, 2011 Author Report Posted April 17, 2011 Yeah I ended up just dropping the whole thing out, too easy. Cheers Quote
