shLONG13 Posted May 20, 2011 Author Report Posted May 20, 2011 Good work mate, you are ripping through it! Gaurds look good. Â Cheers  , yeah ive been working on it lot after school because it needs to come out of dads mates shed asap because he wants to put his new car in there, so as soon as the engine bay and boot are painted it will come out and go to the painters then back home Quote
shLONG13 Posted May 20, 2011 Author Report Posted May 20, 2011 (edited) The primer went on in the engine bay today, then sanded and hit with a few coats of purple in our makeshift oven. Looking shmicko thanks to Dad, verry happy with the finish  Edited June 9, 2011 by shLONG13 Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 (edited) I can taste that purple. I'm a big hater of candy solid mad colours, but I like the flavour of that. :y: Â So tempted to do a nice job on mine... but matte/satin prevails. Â That purple would look amazing with black highlights. IE: all chrome make it black. Edited May 20, 2011 by blzbub666 Quote

Yeah i just got straight violet mixed up to start with which was a standard base colour but it was a little bit to bright, so i ended up going back to the paint shop 3 times after that to get it tinted down to the exact colour i wanted. I got the idea of painting it purple off a model car i had :D and they matched it from that. Ended up pretty much exactly the same coulour as it in the end.  The headlights i have orded for it are the quadlights with the little chrome strip around the headlight surrounds and along the top of the grille, so theres not alot of chrome on it really :) Edited May 20, 2011 by shLONG13 Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 Black MA61's done nice would look mad on it with that colour. Damn this weather I wanna paint mine now. As for the door handles and locks all like new so its all going back on Quote

shLONG13 Posted May 29, 2011 Author Report Posted May 29, 2011 Got to work on the boot the other day. I scraped all the old shitty seam sealer off and resealed it all nicely. I also took all the vinyl of the insides of the rear guards and removed all of the fluff that it left behinde which took a while and got it all sanded down ready for primer. I then got to work with the spray gun for the first time putting on a coat of primer on after dad showing me how to do it. After that dad then put a coat of semi gloss black on it just to tidy it up before it all gets boxed in with some mdf covered with carpet for the floor and vinyl on the sides :y: Â The guards also had some more work done to them. finished of shaping them then bogged, still have to have a few bits and peices done to them but very happy with them  Quote
shLONG13 Posted May 29, 2011 Author Report Posted May 29, 2011 (edited) A few more pics, boot with old sealer removed and sanded back befor primer Edited May 29, 2011 by shLONG13 Quote
shLONG13 Posted May 29, 2011 Author Report Posted May 29, 2011 I pulled my front end out so we could paint the engine bay easier and get right underneth the rails. The whole front end had seen better days in the looks department so i decided to use my mates sand blaster to clean them up nicely. i then took them home put some primer on them a gave them a coat of gloss black which looks overrated :y: Â Also decided to do a custom coil :P and clean up my dash Quote
shLONG13 Posted May 30, 2011 Author Report Posted May 30, 2011 overrated! Â Cheers buddy  Quote
shLONG13 Posted June 1, 2011 Author Report Posted June 1, 2011 Got to work today and assembled the front end and raised it into possition, then reconected the steering. Yet to put the coilovers in :y: Quote
