shLONG13 Posted April 26, 2011 Author Report Posted April 26, 2011 (edited) Interior has come up so well after scrubing and katcher cleaning for what felt like a life time. Most of the plastics where pretty dirty and had a fair bit of grime on them so i got to work and scrubbed the plastics with degreaser and then armoralled them and they come up like new. The seats i gave a good hard scrub with detergant and then katcher cleaned them to get the stains out and wow :D Edited June 9, 2011 by shLONG13 Quote

Actually it was pretty dirty, ecpacialy the interior. it had been sitting in a yard for a few years. i just spent hours and hours with a scrubbing brush and paint and i come up like this, i couildnt beleive it, the seats where like black with stains all over them and now there like new. Ile put some before and after photos of the interior up later on. Yeah i found him by chance on the web when i was looking for quad lights, he lives in the philippines and he had these reconditioned corolla parts, and some where new. the quadlights are used JDM parts that goes trough a refurb to restore it to its original state and the bumpers and indicators are OEM Toyota parts made in Japan. Edited April 27, 2011 by shLONG13 Quote

shLONG13 Posted May 1, 2011 Author Report Posted May 1, 2011 Some of the body work done, all doors rubbed and primed and door frames ready for primer Quote
shLONG13 Posted May 3, 2011 Author Report Posted May 3, 2011 (edited) Just put a few more touches on the 4k that i rebuilt. Everything has been cleaned up inside and out, its had new rings, seals, bearings, timing kit, gaskets, oil filter, spark plugs and welsh plugs. As for cleaning it up and painting it, i got a small wire brush on a drill and went around and got any surface rust and corosion marks off the block, masked it up and hit it with a coat of gloss black VHT high heat engine enamel. The water pump, pulleys, sump and things like that where wire brushed to get any difficult marks off but other than that i used a bit of petrol and this high quality engine degreaser (that stings like a bitch if you get it on your hands) to clean them up, then wacked some primer on them, rubbed them with fine sand paper and sprayed them with that VHT paint and it came out awesome. All the bolts and bits and peices where soaked and cleaned in that kick ass degreaser to get them all nice and shiny again. The timing chain cover i painted with some alluminium paint and the rest of the alluminium stuff was cleaned and wire brushed lightly like the head and distributor but i polished the rocker cover with metal polish and a rag whitch took for ever :bash: but came out sweet :y: Edited July 23, 2011 by shLONG13 Quote
