Ford BA Falcon MKII XR6 5 Speed Manual Leather Optioned 18" Alloys Mods: Twin Tips (that's it) Been speaking to my tuner.. LOoking at above 180rwkw without opening it up. This is to be my daily for now. The idea is to run a 13.75 or better to be the fastest na bseries 6. Quote

Trev Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 my mate had the same thing, extracted 300rwkw and 1000nm of torque with a cooler/zorst and i think upgraded turbo. clutch didnt like all that torque thats for sure! Big difference between an XR6 and an XR6T. OT: Atleast you started out with the manual, would have said good luck if you had the auto. Quote
Rich_Rolla Posted April 11, 2011 Author Report Posted April 11, 2011 The zf 6 speed auto would be my first choice but when a t5 in this colour/price comes your way you don't say no. Will need a rip shift for those preciohs microseconds On gear changes though Quote

Rich_Rolla Posted April 11, 2011 Author Report Posted April 11, 2011 Yeah this one brings uP the ponies as soon as that clutch engages. Can feel the torque straight awa and its nice comfy and smooth for daily duties. Very happy. But as you said, dad has the auto and this deffinetly has more on the launch but i think dads has more on the roll. Quote
SLW42 Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 Just be carefull with the T5's and don't smash through gears as they're a pretty weak box.... But you probably already know that :D , will be good to see if you can manage it..... Maybe look into a t56 conversion later on to handle more power and AN EXTRA GEAR hahahaha :P Dude didn't you have that overrated ef with a fairmont front not long ago????? Quote
Rich_Rolla Posted April 11, 2011 Author Report Posted April 11, 2011 Yeah, still got it. Selling it now. Was a pretty wild car. The t5's aren't the best but to be cost effective i think i'll rebuild the current box stronger. Can't wait to get started on this thing, will be good to really bring one of these motors out of their poorly tuned factory state without boost. Its good having such a good tuner (bruce heinrich) working along with me. Quote
SLW42 Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 as much as you spend the dollars on this box you have now, it still wont be as strong as a TKO5/600 or even a T56, IMO wouldn't it be better to go with a better gearbox straight away instead of spending the same amount of money on a weaker box and when your at/above the power you want have the sycncro's fail and making it harder to shift/select gears??? I know t56's or tko's take a hell of a lot more thrashing than a T5 will before it starts to show signs of wear :jamie: . I do bid you good luck sir and would be good to see this as the fastest n/a Bseries in aus :D Quote
Rich_Rolla Posted April 13, 2011 Author Report Posted April 13, 2011 Alright so my mods list goes 20% underdrives CAI Bpr thermostat (more for constistancy than power) Exhaust (probably just high-flow cat and a system thats still quiet) Throttle body Headers Xcal3 tuned by bruce heinrich Clutch Once this is done i'll be looking at 180rwkw's. I'll run some times with this set-up on the t5. Then i'll start looking at some internals. Will start ordering as soon as i get back from easter holiday Quote
SLW42 Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 what size throttle body are you looking at using?? I see you have it all worked out, and i'd like too see what it runs down the quarter aswell Quote
Tume Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 Oh very nice Richy! Next time I'm back in SA I need to come by and see this thing in the flesh :D Quote
Rich_Rolla Posted April 19, 2011 Author Report Posted April 19, 2011 No kidding, it's actually been years. T56 maybe in a few months....gotta get easter out of the way and re-stock that bank account first lol. Be good to have a t56 ba ute as they never had a six speed in the ba utes. Quote
Tume Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Kind of years.. When I picked up my statesman in January I was following you when you were driving the old car for a while :P Quote
SLW42 Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 T56 would be a good thing for increased power later down the track, and also highway cruising :D Quote
