KE70-noob Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 Hey guys, so a little bit bout me, ive loved modding cars & never kept anything stock in my life, I'm slightly technical minded but havent at that much experience on the mechanics side of things which I'm really keen to learn bout & i think this KE70 will help me with ;).. My daily/streeter has been a swift sport for the last yr & now ive pretty much got my swift to where I'm happy with it so ive moved onto a new project & to start getting myself into drifting.. So i went out & started looking for something cheap, something with easy parts & cheap parts to get, obviously something rwd & something with potential.. So while i was looking on forums & trying to hunt one down my dad found this granny spec KE70 up near Tamworth, so i called him up & asked him bout it, he sent me some pics & it was pretty overrated :).. obviously being a 83 model its not going to be showroom condition but with no rust a strong 4k motor with genuine motor matched with the car with 150,000km on it & been rebuilt recently & a good 4 speed manual lol, she is a lil beast.. I met him halfway on saturday & test drove it & was one of the best ive seen.. so i now have a granny spec rolla which wet slides f@$king awesome & already looked a set of shoes for her, some 14x6.5 0 offset & 14x7 -5 offset respectively.. so heres the pics of Gurdie (Gertrude) lol nice to meet you all Quote
KE70-noob Posted April 6, 2011 Author Report Posted April 6, 2011 I'm still looking for rims but that was on the 2nd day i had it i went to try some on lol.. I know now why all you guys engine swap them lol, 4K's are so slow!!! lol, wet slides ok but if you need to actually move forward in a straight line, forget it lol.. Quote
Ben-89 Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 Welcome mate, I remember seeing this in just cars or one of those specialist car mags. Nice little purchase indeed, whats the condition of the interior like? More pics are in order :y: Being an se and pre Hi cam model, take a pic of the diff to see if its an s series or a borg warner. Every 82 model including my 134km orginal have the s series diff :y: Quote
KE70-noob Posted April 6, 2011 Author Report Posted April 6, 2011 Ye man ill take more pics for sure, pretty dam good interior for its age, only thing bad is drivers seat has like a 5cm tear lol other than that its seriously overrated. Ye dad found it on just cars while looking for mustangs, mini's & escorts lol. SERIOUS?? I didnt know that, thats awesome, brightened my day knowing it might have something good on it :) lol.. ill take a pic of the diff & you can let me know :dancetall: Quote
InitialDMan Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 now i have to post up some pics of mine, nice to see it up here bro, and i can vouch for the interior its like something out of an old black and white movie, overrated as :) Quote
Ben-89 Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 No worries at all, these ke70s have so many little variations according to trims levels it spins you round. Yeah if your lucky a motor trimmer can always restitch that pannel if the actual stitching has undone. Otherwise if the vinyl is acutally cracked then a new panel will need to be put in. I just recently had the front seat bases done on mine, filled with new foam too. Oh so comfy  Just scroll down for more pics. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/24805-bens-ke70/page__st__345 Quote
