scottiriver Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 yes mate there is a secret... make sure ALL the screws are undone (including radio nuts) then GENTLY pull the whole facia from the bottom down then rotate (bottom becomes top) being careful of the plastic steering column. tip: allways move from the bottom. works a charm for me :) good luck mate Quote
SLW42 Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 the dash surround has screws all around it, undo them all and the stock stereo knobs(if you still have the stock one in there), then gently pull it out so it doesn't break, the dash cluster where the gauges are has 4 screws on the corners, undo them then pull it out far enough to get your hand behind it to un clip the plugs and speedo cable and it's out, The whole dash pad is alittle trickier, there are two screws on the sides of the dash(where it meets the doors), then pull the glove box out/off and look/feel underneith the dash pad and there'll be i think 5 10mm nuts holding it in, undo them and the dash pad is off...... Grand Master of Awesome Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 screw behind glovebox and screw behind dash cluster Quote
jimmy-d Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 don't forget about the speedo cable, sometimes it is so tight there is no slack so you have to undo it also, thats what happenned on mine.. Quote
altezzaclub Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 Chase up my content and there is a "How-to" with pictures from when we changed the gearbox. I'm all net cafes this month so no 'favourites' file for 'The Girls KE70...' Quote
swampgarage Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 And when you do take it out, be careful. The metal edges on the back are razor sharp. Found that out the hard way. Quote
