Triz Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 Hey Guys. Ive started to lower my ke20. Ive reset the back leafs and put in 2inch blocks. I want to drop the front about 50-60mm. I got told from people at a few suspension shops and they said id have to get them custom made? Does anyone know any aftermarket superlow springs that would fit the front of the ke20/ Quote
JordyKE Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 Yeah mate i looked into this too. I got quoted i think $250 for 2inch front lowered king springs. Off the suspension guy in the sponsor section on this site. Cheers Quote
rollas-r-us Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 hey dude, i am running i think lows or super lows (king springs) which have had a coil cut. They are stiff and handle alright. But an issue if you jack the car up because they pop out. Quote
blktoy35 Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 free but dodgy=cut say 2 coils, i have done this in my non daily ke35 and it rides fine... but once you jack it up springs are not captive and need to be positioned before lowerng it again. or less dodgey way pull the springs out and got them compressed. majordad Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 Another option could be lowered kings or whatever + take the struts to a suspension shop and have them drop the lower spring plate say 20-30mm which will give you 50-60mm total drop and retain more suspension travel. You will need to put in some shorter shock inserts possibly Rx7 mazda will do the trick. Majordad Quote
GJM85 Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 (edited) Southside Suspension did the front front struts in my ke20. The issues are kings only makes 38mm (1&1/2in) springs as stock for about $125, you'll need to use short stroke insert if you go lower and not a great deal of short stroke inserts fit into the ke20 struts. I think pedders are the only company who makes them. If at all. I took my struts to southside suspension. The had Kings recoil a pair of 38mm springs to 55mm. They shortened the overall strut leg by 50mm and machined up a threaded sleave to allow fitment of a short stroke VW Golf MKI Boge inserts and bump stops to suit. The set up including labour cost me on the plus side 700$ but its money well spent. Edited April 5, 2011 by GJM85 Quote

Yeah i got a quote for $250 for custom made coils for the front plus shortstroke shocks made for an extra $600. $850 is quite expensive just to lower the front of the car haha. But i think I'm going to have to do it. Cheers for all your guys help Quote
