bluemountains rolla Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 hey, recently bought a 81 ke55, yellow with a brown interior. the paint is dull and i am going to get a respray. i was thinking about gloss black but i was just wondering of any thoughts if i should re-spray yellow or change the colour. thanks James Quote
silverra23 Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 Gloss black is up there with the hardest colours to paint.. if your body work preparation is not 100% awesome, every dent, womble, wave and poor fitting part on your car will be magnified 100 times over with the gloss black. And it will look shit with your brown interior. I'd stick with a yellow myself..they can look great in yellow. If you want something more modern go for a modern version of yellow.. like the current ve commodore colour or something. Quote
jimmy-d Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 Totally agree about the black, slightest imperfections in the body are magnified to such a point that it can really look shit plus they get and look dirty so quickly your always cleaning if you want it to look good.Other thing with color change is its a big job to do properly, inside door sills, frames etc etc, guess it depends on how much time, money and inclination you have but doesnt it always? bluemountains rolla Posted April 5, 2011 Author Report Posted April 5, 2011 sounds like sticking to yellow is the plan thanks Quote
YLD 10S Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 Hey, I have a 81 Ke55 in Canary Yellow, represent! Its not a perfect job done by the previous owner but the yellow defiantly hides the cars imperfections haha Quote
7FOUR7 Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 I'd go for a soft, light pastel kind of yellow, something not so bright and in your face as canary.. Quote

peza87 Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 i would go with the stock colour it would look neat an tidy reel clean. Quote
