kickn5k Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 No-one make forgies for K's. Custom only. ...so be preppared for a $1k+ price tag. Yep custom and price is about $1250ish for REAL Aussie made pistons. Google Special piston services and check out there website. Been hearing stories of over 2 month turn around times out of the states. Stu. Quote
Jono.C Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Heard a rumour of 1ggte pistons fitting? Not forged but most likely a lot stronger Quote
coln72 Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Again, why????? Unless you are going to shove some serious boost down its throat, quality cast pistons shouls be sufficient. Quote
anteKE Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 G,day Tom Pistons are available from a site in Finland! www.esapeltonen.fi,there bloody expensive ,and unless you are a serious racer ,you probably don't need e'm. The site is worth a look though. All the best anteKE PS. Give Brendan Jones at Motor Imrovments in Vic a call they build race motors for toyotas, they may be able to help you Quote
pinsx3 Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 does anybody know where I can get forged flat tops for a 4k? Quote
philbey Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) Hi pinsx3. Did you even read the earlier posts in this thread? Nobody makes them off the shelf. Custom items only, call special piston services, 1250 for a set. Edited April 27, 2011 by philbey Quote
ke70dave Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 i believe that someone has used 4age pistons in a k motor before. and there are heaps of forged 4age pistons around. else maybe 1G might be the go according to this: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/30364-4age-pistons-into-4k/ might be best to contact a piston manufacture, give them the specs on pistons you want (pin height, size..whatever) and ask if they have anything to suit. surely something has to come close that is available. snot35 Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 4A pistons seem to be good size wise to go into a 5K. The smaller bored 4K would need a fair bit of work to get them to fit. It would probably be cheaper to source a 5K Quote
pinsx3 Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 sorry, what about OE pistons? does anyone make a 20 over OEM piston for a 4k. Quote
pinsx3 Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 sorry, what about OE pistons? does anyone make a 20 over OEM piston for a 4k. Here is a picture of the race car that needs pistons -- its a Ke 17, and its been raced since 1971 pretty much constantly. BTW, have some original forged race pistons for a 3k -- the pins are different, bigger -- also they are a short skirt single ring. Very trick. I don't want em. I want longevity. Quote
philbey Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 ACL/Mahle supply 20, 40 and 60 over pistons for 5K's, I would chase them in the first instance for the 4K stuff as well. Quote
pinsx3 Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 what about putting 5k pistons liners in a 4k, are the cranks identical? will bore spacing work? Quote
