Scott_87 Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Hi guys Was looking for opinions as I'm stuck on what to do on this. Just had my e70 resprayed and the original plan was to chuck back on original pin striping and the side rubber strip to keep it abit more original as I went original aa/h2 peak white paint. But now indecisive so please pass forward your opinions to make me hurry up and decide. If it helps I'm also running superlights black with the chrome/polish outer lip and dish. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 You can always peel pinstripes off if you don't like them. Quote
Scott_87 Posted March 30, 2011 Author Report Posted March 30, 2011 Yeah but if I was to do pin stripping and put the rubber strip back on I would take it somewhere to get done properly as mine may end up abit crooked LOL. Quote

B.L.Z.BUB Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Give it a go. It's cheap to buy. eGay has some dirt cheap. If you spend ten bucks doing it yourself and you like it, but your attempt doesn't look the best, get it done properly. Or search Google images for something similar to yours with them done. Really we can't decide a personal decision for you. Mines matte black without door rubber and a red pin stripe. Looks awesome, but that's just my opinion. Or take a picture and PhotoShop some lines on it. Quote
Scott_87 Posted March 30, 2011 Author Report Posted March 30, 2011 Yeah I suppose was just seeing peoples opinions though on what they thought looked better. Wasn't asking people to tell me to do what they like coz I've got the final decision. Quote
Ben-89 Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Well most poeple with the ke70s/71 seem to rip off the stripes and rubbers like no tomorrow, so there is no real differentiation between them as they look plain Jane.. A simple pinstripe on its own, or moulding or both really set it off if its done properly. And if its fresh as your doing, its bound to really improve the apprearance and originality of your ke. Just a few pics of mine. The previous red ae71 I had was finished with gold stripes, being old and worn I replaced them with fresh ones and the difference was instant! The actual pinstripes along the belt line were on already. If they weren't I would've put them regardless. I added the Corolla decals after a sign writer made them up, finished in the exact colour as the striping. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 (edited) Best i Ccould find of mine with the pin stripe on it. EDIT : PM me a pic of your car and Ill do a Photoshop thing on it. Edited March 30, 2011 by blzbub666 Quote
BlueKsev Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 I am having the same problem myself. Except my Ke is blue. On a white one i would definately go with a red and black pinstripe they look awesome. Quote
Scott_87 Posted March 31, 2011 Author Report Posted March 31, 2011 Cheers heaps guys. Ok ill take a photo of it this weekend and p.m through. P.S red pin strip stands out awesome. Quote
altezzaclub Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 I like 'em- a subtle pinstripe can really accent a line of a car. It changes the shape by drawing the eye to somewhere you wouldn't normally notice. On the KE70s it really shows up that long front to rear curve. Quote
tojo2 Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 like a tidy pinstripe but Id leave the rubber off- either / or. Both are too much imo don't like black under doors , seen too many poor rust repairs done that way Quote
SLW42 Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 I say go ahead and do it, if you want your car to look original, and granny spec put the black plastic things back on, but IMHO they look like arse on a keto, But for the pinstriping go any colour you want you could try.......red, black, blue, green, yellow, orange, purple, silver, grey and so on and so forth I personally think you should do it yourself so you can decide which colour you like more, or even add two colours together, like red and black or purple and blue, be creative with it and find something your happy with!!!!
