ausca62 Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 Hi Guys I have an Autogage tacho by Auto Meter But I have lost the wireing diagram. It has 4 main wires, red, black, green & white. 2 small orange & 2 small brown wires. and 2 black wires together with a plug on the end. I would assume the latter to be the shift light but could be wrong. Thanks for any help. Paul. Quote

The 2 small orange and 2 small brown are actually the cylinder selector, how many cylinders has the car got that you are putting it into? And yes the black plug is for the shift light. Quote

Trev Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 trev u r a ledgend. It is going into an ae82. Thanks man No dramas, I have done a few autometer tacho installs so you get to remember the wiring but I can't remember what wire you cut for 6 cylinder. 8 cylinder - orange joined to orange, brown to brown. 6 cylinder - pretty sure you cut the orange one (been a while since I did a 6 install). 4 cylinder - cut both wires just how yours is so just wire it up and go. Also, if you wanna tidy the wiring up on the back of it you can undo the 3 nuts on the rear and tuck the selector wires into the back of the tacho. Quote
ausca62 Posted March 16, 2011 Author Report Posted March 16, 2011 thanks again mate and thanks from the 4a. I can now keep it at half respectable revs. Paul. Quote
