Nitephyre Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 http://hometown.aol.com/japaneserestorer/index.html I got this from PF, it's done by a Brisbane bloke and apparently he's not able to afford doing it anymore unless he can get more subscribers, so i'm thinking of at least buying up the back catalogue from him, if he's got them left. BUT as i'm browsing through the site, I spot none other than OKE250, and a nice arse shot of it =) So jamie, i'm guessing you're a subscriber.. and i'm guessing it's worth it? Quote
Super Jamie Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 yes, and yes =) i've met jon a few times, he's really cool to talk to, and owns nice cars. he's been at the last few all toyota days you know :( haha good thing you reminded me about this actually, my subscription ran out a couple of months ago and i've been meaning to renew it Quote
Super Jamie Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 you'll also notice alex-now-scott's ke10 on the back cover of the issue before mine Quote
Xany Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 i'm subcribing too, although i could pick mine up....lol he lives in the next suburb over from me....well thats where the PO box is... =) Quote
Super Jamie Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 bugger all, like 30 bucks a year i think Quote
Nitephyre Posted October 17, 2005 Author Report Posted October 17, 2005 Yeah, thinking I might as well Quote
Gavclassic Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Definatly worth subscribing to!!. Also worth buying all the back issues, some great reading on different old jap cars. It costs him about $4 grand to put out each issue, so lets all help him out !!. =) Quote
ancullen Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Do they include some specifications of the cars they restore (eg. power output, torque, etc)? Or is it just details on the restoration? Quote
Super Jamie Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 email jon, details on the webpage no, you don't get power output and a list of what brand name components the owner has had fitted by a workshop. this is a magazine for people who appreciate old japanese of all types, from corollas and RX3s, to 2000GTs and prince skylines, to daihatsu light trucks, to a rare 1920s "datsun fire appliance". it's an interesting read, but if you want to see kw at the wheels and what electronic boost controller they have on the dash with no idea of how to use, subscribe to zoom (which i do as well) Quote
ancullen Posted October 18, 2005 Report Posted October 18, 2005 I meant factory output, not restored/upgraded output. I'll probably still subscribe anyway and buy up all the back issues, especially Issue 1. Mmm, Bathurst Corolla. Quote
Super Jamie Posted October 18, 2005 Report Posted October 18, 2005 tops, it's a good interesting read  Quote
