Okay, so today, a little gift appeared outside my house....

A 1992 COROLLA  ...Okay... Not the most amazing thing every, but for a first car, I shouldn't be overly picky.

Though I am annoyed I missed out on a AU$500 VW Golf by a single day. ):

But nonetheless, here is my car:

Runs beautiful, so far not a single issue I have noticed. When it's not pouring down rain I'll take an engine shot... I'm no specialist. But you guys might know something.

And uhmm... the plate says the engine is a 4A-F.

That last pic shows what is called "overspray" when paint is unintentionally sprayed onto an area it shouldnt be on. Maybe there was a little ding below the taillight which they had repaired and quickly painted.

Yours is an se so it will have a 4afc, which means it has a carby motor.

Still for $2,200 i'd rather have this than a Golf. For a 20 year old car they are rather nice to drive as I have previously test driven a few :y: The other advantage is the abdundance of parts and affordability too.

Keep us updated!

Oops second edit.

The left hand tail light where the overspray is from is a series one hatch back (replacement). The profile of the light sits flush with the tailgate, while the original series two one the right sits a little further from the tailgate and has the reverse lights in a different order  Probably a result from backing into something. Solid car none the less.

I noticed the spray... I was reffering mainly to the different tailight clusters ;]

Oh okay,

Well the one on the right is the correct one. Series two ae92s have the modern toyota logo.

Also series two taillights don't fade like the series ones either.

Yeah I was thinking id go check out the wreckers

Check the wreckers first, but this week on ebay I saw series two lights

selling for $45.00 each.

And yes the rear spoiler can fit, but mounting may be an issue

as the genuine SX/GTI tailgate already had the mounting holes

for the spoiler.

Okay so the rain has finally stopped. (It's been raining ever since the first photos :glare: )

So I went out to my car, and opened it up to get some pics of the areas I missed on the first runthrough.

Tell me what's wrong with the picture, or what's right. It'd be nice to know. (:

You know what I like about the condition of this car? What you see is what get, so you know what your working with.

My observations from visiting these cars, and other members cars is that the rocker cover gaskets and timing cover gaskets tend to become leaky with age. Yours displays this but for now a good degrease will do the trick. The bonnet bracing is common, a flexi araldite will help to a degree, the hatch area in the jambs looks preety clean, along with the spare tyre well in the boot.

That panel below the light is called a filler panel, preety much a garnish to fill the gap.

The smae guy on ebay whos selling the S2 lights has these too as this model Corolla he only specialises in :y:

Is there any rust above the windscreen or below the rear windscreen on the tailgate, (Under the black plastic trim).
