i got a sr20de sitting out the front of my joint doing nothing, it seems alot of people are using the sr20de and whys is that on these cars?

now my engine has only been rebuilt on the 55000kms mark because of the 2 speed auto..

just wondering would it be benifical for me to work on my 1.2lr or get the conversion?

what would be more fun to run around in?

cheerz

Sorry but that is by far the stupidest question I have ever seen on rollaclub......What the hell do you reckon would be more fun a 2.0L DOHC 140HP motor or a 1.166L Pushrod 84HP (if you have the 3K-B) motor.

Why are people using the sr20? Cause it's easy to get heaps of power out of them and there are endless suppliers of aftermarket accessories for them.

Oh and Welcome to Rollaclub.

*edit jono yes that was my reason 6 years ago when i began the build, i could not find a toyo engine i wanted to make the power and torque i needed safely,

i have been looking at the 3RZ-T engine, but the head bolts stretch, they are making a kit i have been told now

Depends on a few factors, but I think (and just a thought) that Engineered and going will be over 6 grand easy, people will correct me or add onto this in time.

SSS you are referring to the FWD N14 pulsar,

the engine mounts are different to the RWD version, and I'm am quite sure the block mounts are not the same as RWD version

pay someone to do the coversion about 3-5k

yourself if you know what your doing, about 1-2k

DET for sure. As eventually you'll undoubtedly crack the shits and go turbo anyway. Few mate's have had n/a silvia's and it's cost them like $3500 just to drop in the turbo motor which it was made for anyway

alrite.. silvias tho... same engine and heaveyer.. eww. also. since just a old car... am i going to have to change, suspension.. or to power steering or anything else u can think of because it hasent got the 2 speed in it?

Diff won't be strong enough. An r31 diff would be ideal to be customiesed (shortened mounts moved etc)

Stiffer suspension is a must if you want it to handle so springs and shocks or coilover kit for the front

Brakes won't be good enough so they'll need to be upgraded

You'll need to convert to hydraulic clutch from the cable clutch installed now

You'll need to do a fuel system as the stock engine runs a mechanical (camshaft driven) fuel pump and sr20 is electronic fuel pump

Then there's Engine mounts, Gearbox mounts, Fuel lines, Tailshaft, Wiring and ecu etc, not cheap and not simple

lol u ask questions ya get answears! .

You ask the same question lots you get angry moderators. For you to have a long and happy stay, this is not adviseable.

I'm beginning to think this is a current member with a new profile just trying to stir us up....Who doesn't know what EFI is?

Not that I can see.
