Dad has just bought a tinny wich i would like to use.

Has anyone had any troubles with towing tinny's or anything obviously not too big, with a ke70 or small corolla.

I'm just wondering how it will go pulling it out of the water?

Your car would have a manual which would state the towing capacity of the vehicle. If it did not come out

with a tow rating then you are not allowed to tow with it. Generally most cars do have a rating and for a KE70 it would be quite low.

A tinny should be fine especially if the trailer is very light. I guess the angle of the boat ramp would say how the old rolla would pull the tinny out.

I don't see a huge problem with it but your clutch might!

from my googling I found a KE70 has a tow rating of 750kg.

Small tinny would be fine or small trailer etc

I think that would be the capacity with a trailer that has brakes. A KE70 wouldn't weigh too mutch more than a tonne would it?

There are two ratings to look at. Un-Braked and braked trailers.

After a quick google.....

According to: http://www.carbuddy.com.au/car/values/specification/default.aspx?&mk=TOYOTA&md=COROLLA&y=1985&vs=~

1985 TOYOTA COROLLA CS AE71

4Door WAGON 5 SEATS, RWD, CARB, 5 SP MANUAL

» Towing Capacity: Brake(750kg), Unbrake(400kg)

All of the other variants of the same year have the same rating.

As Twinky said, remember that if your trailer doesn't have brakes (which it most likely won't) you need to be looking at the Unbraked rating (400kg).

That's on the legal side, as to how well it would actually do it, I have no idea.

NOTE: This information is just something that I googled up, and may be incorrect or not applicable for you state and I personally have no knowledge or experience on this matter.

Towed a camper trailer (6x4 with a fold out tent on it) with no issues with my KE35. Towed interstate etc easily. But I was running a high comp 5k and was running air adjustable shocks though.

You should have seen some of the stuff that my dad use to tow with his '55 up hills and down hills. And the damn thing never broke a sweat.

Except for one load that got the temp up to the 3/4 mark.

A mate towed my old st185 about 30kms with his KE70 its struggled up a couple of the hills but I'm pretty sure a tiny would be a hell of alot less than that. I think it will tow it fine its just a matter of the legality of it all
