Evan G Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 walking back to the car from the plaza. jump inside the car. look up and there a guy with a big bag looking under the tarp of a ute. looked a little sus. he walked off pulled his keys out and pretended to central lock the ute. no lights/horn when off. thats when i knew something was going on. drove off and pulled into a car spot in-front of the plaza and bolted in looking for a security guard. found one told him the situation and he followed me out to find him. soon as we walked out the doors there he was looking under another tarp of a builders ute looking for tools etc etc. he called for back up as i was walking to the car. HOPE THAT SCUM BAG GOT f@$kING CAUGHT! pinch some tools and go to cashies for some money for drugs. just a head ups don't leave tools and other valuables unsecured in the back of the ute. dog c**ts! altezzaclub Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 lol! Can't see that happening in Cape Town... "Hey that's my ute, BOOM! chk chk..." The best one would be to lift the tarp and a giant dog reaches out and rips your arm off. I saw a guy reach into a woman's car in a plaza carpark as she got in and grab her handbag. His mate was in a Subaru and they hit it as soon as they realised I had watched him. I chased them to the exit but being criminals they had no compunction about driving down the wrong side of the road to get out and vanished. That's the problem with the cops and the politicians, they don't realise that criminals don't obey their laws! Quote
Evan G Posted March 4, 2011 Author Report Posted March 4, 2011 i wonder if i "arrested" him till the cops came would i get f@$ked over cause i had no proof? yea maybe the cctv at the plaza would of saw him. but he could just deny it all? Quote
carbonboy Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 (edited) If you have a reasonable belief that a crime has been committed you have the legal right to detain a person (citizens arrest) using REASONABLE force until the police arrive. Your proof would be your witness statement recorded in a statutory declaration & you would more than likely be required to give this evidence in court. Having said that, that person could still beat the f**k outta you & take off.... Edited March 21, 2011 by carbonboy Quote
