uuillie Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Hi All Had one of those brain waves the other day, lexus v8 into a rolla. then got thinking, if I'm going to all that trouble y not put an irs into it and make it a total weapon. (4WD is way too hard!) for now Picked up a complete soarer from sydney a few weeks ago, Chose from the collection of rolla "the chosen one". Body only needs a little bit of work!!! Quote
Sam_Q Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 how good a fabricator are you? Might pay to get reg on it first before you get the grinder out Quote
Jono.C Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Looks like you have some work ahead of you, have you looked at lloyd smiths 1uz ke70 on here for idea's? What're you doing about manual conversion on the 1uz? Haltech -Jono Quote
uuillie Posted March 3, 2011 Author Report Posted March 3, 2011 Regs for drift state nothing about it, but hillclimbs is the point of the build and sports sedans have no rules, 4l engine car needs to weigh 1100kg, thats about all the rules, can be a space tube frame. lloyd smiths build is a good read, didnt want to copy his build hense the irs, manual convo is sorted, CRS bell housing, custom flywheel and custom clutch. looking at an autronic ECU Quote
Sam_Q Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 will you be able to make it handle with that IRS and that weight up the front? So what's the IRS out of? Quote

Jordan Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 sports sedans have no rules, 4l engine car needs to weigh 1100kg, thats about all the rules, can be a space tube frame. And it's that lack of rules that I love about Sports Sedans. Be warned however: if you've got a 4L you're in class S1 against 6L Chev's and turbo 13 and 20B's. That's why I've gone <2.0L turbo (using a highly strung CA18DET) that puts me in class S2, maximum NA engines of 3500cc, no turbo rotaries (well a 10A doesn't count.) Also Wheel arch flares cannot exceed 100mm in width. Dam :( Best of luck though, it'll be a wild ride. Jordan Quote
