Hey guys, does anyone know how much of a difference a 5k will make potential wise and preformence wise? Or should I just spend the money on "beefing" up the 4k?

from what i gather

Spend the money beefing up a 5k and you'll have a zippy little run about

EDIT- 5k is a much better platform to start from rather then a 4k

A 5k is good money spent If you putting a lot of money into a K engine, if you going to put it in and change the carby some might say its not really worth the effort and time. not much top end difference from the 4k but more torque ar the bottom!

Cheers

With some usual intake cam and exhaust mods and a little

extra comp I would expect to see somewhere around

90hp at the treads

depends how mechanically retarded you are? your looking around the 1800 mark if a engine rebuilder has to do all the work, all you do is drop it off and tell him what you want and bend over.

i have a 5k in my corolla. its completely stock and i can chirp 2nd gear pretty well.

I'm getting extractors and webbers for it later on and probably make a straight through exhaust.

but from the power output I'm getting in the wet should kick out no problems.
