slopeyrolla Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 HI, i know this is a Rolla site, but me and my mates got more Toyotas than we can poke a stick at... Got a 4wd 1998 Hilux with 3L (aftermarket Safari Turbo) Diesel. PLENTY of torque ;) not having a great deal of luck after 3rd rebuild.... Ouch! WHat else from the Turbo Diesel 4cyl family is an easy conversion (4wd still needs to work!) Proven, is what i need to know, not throwing $ at maybes cheers Quote

20vT Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 all done with a 1KZ hi-lux engine The new hiluxs run a 1KD or 2KDFTV engine, both of which are common rail diesels and believe they also have variable geometry turbochargers on them. 1KZ engine were from the earlier model Hilux which were the older type Electronic distributor pump type diesels, they are still a good strong motor, I once heard of them being call the 2jz of the diesel world lol Quote
SLW42 Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 I know of a place that does 1uz into surf conversions here in brisbane, Seen and know 2 guy s with turbo 2j hilux's, if it's 4wd there is endless possibilities mate, unless you want something that'll bolt straight in Quote
