rian Posted October 5, 2011 Report Posted October 5, 2011 It looks weird, like a 4WD wheel arch or something? And maybe I'm wrong, but it doesn't look like it's going to help with the fitment issue as the tyre will still make contact with the original part of the fender. Unless you are trimming the original fender to position the new fender lip higher up on the panel? Quote
iwontarolla Posted October 5, 2011 Author Report Posted October 5, 2011 I'm pretty sure it would clear, its only a ruff one trying to get ideas on what to do. i kinda like it, but still unsure on it. any ideas? Quote
rian Posted October 5, 2011 Report Posted October 5, 2011 There's a few ideas here, some of the pictures don't work though. Quote
SLO-030 Posted October 5, 2011 Report Posted October 5, 2011 Cut the arch where it folds down along the red line. Pull the now seperated strip evenly out till it covers the wheel. Then weld it a filler section and beat smooth. Stock style whilst doing the job. Quote
iwontarolla Posted October 5, 2011 Author Report Posted October 5, 2011 that was going to be the next thing to do slo-030, but we where going to do it higher up but where you said to seems like a better spot to do it. i need tires before i do any more work on the guards i think. Quote
1JZ-Rolla Posted October 5, 2011 Report Posted October 5, 2011 And there's no way you could get a decent ride height on a ke70 with 245's lets be honest.. What about 265's on an 18x10" rim? :P Loving your work iwontarolla, such dedication to making it work! Keep it up. Cheers 1 Quote
iwontarolla Posted October 6, 2011 Author Report Posted October 6, 2011 cheers 1jz. fixed my boot lock today. just pulled it fully apart banged it on the bench acouple of times then filled it with wd40. just need to make a clip that holds it to the hatch so you can't pull it out. Quote
philbey Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 *Edit wtf?? 245's are what we have on 9" wide wheels on the back of my brothers supra and they're prefect fit with no stretch oops, sorry, 225s, my mistake. Go grab one of those lock clips from a wrecker, no need to make a new one. Just pop it off with a screwdriver. Quote
Crowie55 Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 Try some ke30-55, xt130 corona or GH Sigma Lower control arms to get the top of the rim under the guard, 195's will be fine on an 8 inch rim also. Cheers, Crowie. Quote
iwontarolla Posted October 7, 2011 Author Report Posted October 7, 2011 i think for now ill just put a big metal cable tie and it to stop it for now. i have cmaber tops so i can dial in a fair bit at the moment. also was bored before work to day so polished and painted my window wipers not the best photo but yea. thanks guys Quote
SLO-030 Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 Try some ke30-55, xt130 corona or GH Sigma Lower control arms to get the top of the rim under the guard, 195's will be fine on an 8 inch rim also. Cheers, Crowie. Longer control arms wont tuck the top of the tyre in. It would work if the top pivot point was below the top of the tyre. But as the top pivot is a fair bit higher, all it will end up doing is pushing it further out. Quote
1JZ-Rolla Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 SLO-030 is correct...... longer control arms will only make the situation worse, sure, you'll get more camber, but also widen your track :) Quote
Alxcustomwerks Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 i was wondering are two door dx wagon like yours..are all panel vans? i have a two door like yours..with glass on the side, but the thing is the last glass are just improvised that's why i'm looking for original glasses if there are any..the 4 door is not the same as the 2 door..TIA Quote
